About Us
For 28 years, OKM Detectors has been developing and manufacturing geophysical measuring devices: metal detectors, magnetometers, 3D ground scanners, and ground radar. Everything is produced in-house here in Altenburg, Made in Germany, and is used by customers in over 100 countries. We enjoy tinkering and doing many things ourselves. This is exactly the attitude we are now looking for for our internal IT.
Your Responsibilities
You will take responsibility for all internal IT matters at OKM. You will be the first point of contact for colleagues, for our systems, and for external service providers. In the first twelve months, you can expect:
Infrastructure: Network and WLAN at the location (routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, VLAN), telephone system, workstations, hardware, and the technical onboarding of new colleagues
Online Shop: You will adapt our Shopify store (theme, apps, interfaces, e.g., to Odoo)
AI in Everyday Work: You will set up AI tools like Claude for the team, manage access and policies, train colleagues, and accompany specific use cases
IT Fundamentals and Security: Access rights, password management, virus protection, backups according to the 3-2-1 principle, licenses, and a GDPR-compliant basic configuration, as well as the support of access control, time tracking, and security technology
Your Profile
Completed vocational training (e.g., IT specialist) or a degree in computer science or a comparable field, plus initial professional experience
Solid knowledge in Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs
Fundamentals in networking and systems (WLAN, DNS/DHCP, VLAN, Firewall) or the willingness to quickly familiarize yourself
Responsible handling of sensitive data and protection of network infrastructure
You prefer to implement things yourself rather than just planning: you configure, program, migrate, and train, and you bring projects to completion
You work independently and in a structured manner, document thoroughly, and share your knowledge
You explain technology in a way that non-technical people can understand, and you enjoy making work easier for others
You are keen to further develop our IT in the direction of cloud, automation, and AI
You work on-site in Altenburg
