System Development and Modification Engineer

Code & Pepper supports clients in demanding industries, helping them scale teams and build modern products. The project involves the development and maintenance of an IT system for the public sector. We are looking for a person who will be responsible for the development of the existing solution, implementation of new functionalities, code refactoring, and improvement of the system's quality and stability. The role requires broad technical knowledge – from backend and frontend programming, through system integrations, deployment process automation, to architecture analysis and ensuring solution security. Our Must-Haves * Minimum 2 years of commercial experience in developing and modifying IT systems * Experience in creating backend applications in Java (8+) using relational SQL databases * Very good knowledge of Java and experience with Spring Boot * Experience in building system integrations using XML and JSON communication * Practical knowledge of designing and implementing REST API and SOAP services * Experience in creating Java applications running on Tomcat and WildFly (JBoss) application servers * Experience in implementing search mechanisms using Elasticsearch and configuring this solution * Knowledge of creating web applications using JSP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS * Experience in creating and modifying portlets compliant with JSR-168 and JSR-286 standards * Experience working with Liferay Portal and creating responsive frontend applications * Experience in creating mobile applications for Android and iOS using Flutter * Ability to diagnose and solve problems occurring in production environments * Experience in writing unit and integration tests and ensuring code quality * Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) * Experience in managing code repositories and deployment processes using Git * Ability to optimize application performance and implement observability solutions (monitoring, logs, alerts, e.g., Zabbix) * Experience in designing and developing IT system architecture using architectural patterns and component integration * Ability to create technical and analytical documentation using UML and tools like Enterprise Architect or equivalent * Experience in analyzing system architecture for security and assessing solution resilience to potential threats * Knowledge of the process of monitoring vulnerabilities in components and libraries and managing security updates What we can offer you? * Cooperation in B2B model or Employment Contract – you choose * Salary for Employment Contract: 13,000 - 20,000 PLN gross * Rate for B2B: 16,000 - 24,000 PLN net + VAT * Training budget (up to 2,500 PLN net per year) * Flexible working hours (with consideration for core hours) * Possibility of 100% remote work * Multisport Plus card and private medical care (Luxmed)
