Tēnei tūranga - About the Role: Join MBIE’s Investment Operations team and help deliver science and innovation funding – such as the Catalyst Fund – that makes a real difference for Aotearoa New Zealand. This operational role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years’ experience in project planning and coordination, administration, or grants/funding roles who is looking to grow capability in funding operations and contract administration within a fast-paced, detail-focused environment. You will plan and coordinate end-to-end funding rounds, provide professional support to applicants and contract holders, assist with contract administration and other administrative tasks, and contribute to continuous business improvements. This role suits someone who values accuracy, enjoys structured and routine work, delivers great customer service, and brings strong attention to detail, collaboration skills, and confidence learning new online systems. What you will do * Plan and coordinate timelines and processes for end-to-end funding rounds. * Provide timely, professional support to external enquiries (email and 0800 support line). * Assist with contract administration, including contract set-up, variations, and related processes. * Support team with a range of administrative tasks, including data entry, document formatting, quality checks, meeting logistics, and other duties as required. * Support configuration and testing of funding templates in MBIE’s online system. * Work collaboratively across the branch and organisation to support efficient funding delivery and continuous improvements. Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required What we are looking for * 2 – 4 years’ relevant experience in project planning and coordination, administration, or grants/funding roles (government or funding operations experience desirable). * Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with confidence working in structured, routine processes. * Proficiency in MS Office and a proven ability to learn online systems and digital workflows quickly. * Customer-focused, with experience managing external enquiries by email and phone. * Strong organisation skills, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines without compromising quality. * Effective relationship management and collaboration skills. * Clear, professional written and verbal communication for a range of audiences. * Proactive and solution focused, adaptable in a fast paced environment with changing priorities. * Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
