Investment Associate / Vice President Venture Capital

LHH For our client, a primary pan-European venture capital fund, we are looking for an INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE / VP VENTURE CAPITAL. The figure will have a key role in defining the investment strategy, identifying and evaluating new opportunities, managing the portfolio, and consolidating relationships with universities, research centers, and industrial partners. Responsibilities The figure will be responsible for the following activities: - Sourcing and evaluation of investments: identify and analyze investment opportunities in deep tech startups, particularly those from Italian universities and research centers. - Due diligence: conduct in-depth analyses on potential investments, including market valuations, financial models, and technical assessments. - Portfolio Management: supervise portfolio companies, providing strategic and operational support to promote growth and maximize exit value. - Stakeholder Engagement: develop and maintain relationships with the academic world, industrial partners, government agencies, incubators/accelerators, and other venture capital funds, in order to promote a constant flow of qualified opportunities. - Strategic planning: contribute to defining the fund's strategic directions, investment criteria, and long-term development plans. - Leadership and mentoring: lead and support the team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Your Profile - Education: specifically required is a technical studies background: PHD, electronics, energy, physics, chemistry, materials, aerospace, mechanics. - Experience: at least 3-5 years in national or international venture capital funds or as founder of startups/scaleups. In second instance, profiles with consulting or investment banking experience will also be evaluated if they have experiences similar to the startup world. - Technical skills: in-depth knowledge of deep tech topics (AI, robotics, cybersecurity, etc.). - Analytical skills: excellent analytical and financial modeling abilities, with the capacity to evaluate complex technologies and business models. - Communication and networking: excellent relational, negotiating, and communicative abilities, with an attitude to interact with heterogeneous interlocutors. - Leadership: proven experience in managing teams and projects in dynamic and innovative contexts. - Languages: proficiency in the English language.
