Job description

Your Role

Medium-sized consulting firms acquire their clients through recommendations. This works — until you start at a new location where nobody knows you. Then you need a second way. We are currently building this second way, and you will be working on it.

Vogel is one of the most successful medium-sized consulting firms in Germany — several thousand medium-sized companies trust us with their tax, commercial, and strategic matters. Based on this, we are building the leading consulting platform for the German medium-sized businesses: we grow organically and through acquisitions, consolidate a fragmented market, and integrate each new entity into a common setup. The demand function is currently being built. During these three to six months, you won't just watch a channel being built — you will help build it.

You are still studying and interested in the measurable side of marketing. You are not looking for an internship where you schedule posts, but one where you set up a campaign, evaluate it, and draw your own conclusions. This role is precisely built for that.

You will report directly to the management and work closely with Brand & Content. Those who deliver during their internship will receive an offer for full-time employment with us.

Your Responsibility

Campaigns and Paid Channels

  • Set up your own campaigns and manage them in operation — target groups, ads, bids, evaluation.

  • Systematically test ad variants and document what worked and what didn't. A test without a recorded result was not a test.

  • Research target groups for both audiences: medium-sized entrepreneurs and future colleagues.

Website, Search, and Funnel

  • Build landing pages and improve them based on the data you collect yourself.

  • Contribute to our search engine visibility — research keywords, structure, improvement of existing content.

  • Check our registration funnels for broken points and fix them. A contact lost in the form is the most expensive contact of all.

Measurement and Evaluation

  • Be responsible for weekly reporting on our channels and turn it into a recommendation, not just a series of numbers.

  • Assist in building the attribution of contacts to sources — the basis for us to know what is effective.

  • Document your setups so that someone can continue after you without extensive onboarding.

Your Perspectives

Where the position is heading:

The standard path leads to a full-time position in Growth Marketing and from there to a management level. Both specialist and leadership career paths are open. What you receive is determined by your contribution — years of service alone do not advance you here.

What You Bring

Experience & Track Record

  • You are studying Economics, Marketing, Media, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.

  • You have already run a campaign or managed a channel — during an internship, for an initiative, or for your own project.

  • You have delivered above-average results in some field and can explain how.

  • Profiles that do not fit the above criteria but possess funnel thinking and quantitative substance are expressly invited — we evaluate based on contribution, not labels. Specifically: students who have built and marketed their own digital offering; natural scientists with extensive evaluation experience; self-taught individuals with verifiable campaign results. The indicated range refers to the primary profile. Those with a different background will start at a different market price — upon transition to permanent employment, the same logic applies as for everyone: compensation follows contribution. This is detailed in our compensation principles.

Skills & Work Style

  • You can navigate an ad system or quickly learn to do so yourself.

  • You master Excel beyond Pivot Tables and are not afraid of messy data.

  • You use AI as a standard tool — for ad variants, target group research, and evaluation.

  • You write ad copy that encourages clicks without overpromising.

Mindset & Personality

  • You can tolerate that most attempts don't work and draw a conclusion from each one.

  • You yourself say when something isn't working, even if it was your idea.

  • You have the ambition to set the highest standard in everything you deliver — not because someone is checking, but because mediocrity personally bothers you.

What You Won't Find With Us

  • No internship as a post scheduler. You will set up your own campaigns and be responsible for their evaluation.

  • No pure reach-focused thinking. Visibility without contributing to the pipeline does not count as a result for us.

  • No setup with pre-existing measurement. You will help build the underlying infrastructure from scratch.

  • No "you'll get to work independently someday." With us, it's from day one: you do, you are responsible, you will be corrected if necessary — but you won't wait.

FAQ

1. What is Vogel — and where do you work?

Vogel is one of Germany's leading medium-sized consulting firms — a family business since 1959, based in Aalen — and is building it into the leading consulting platform for medium-sized businesses. We are growing in several locations: in Aalen/Ostwürttemberg as the established headquarters and in Munich as a new hub. At both locations, we are looking for people across all functions — from tax consulting to advisory and the strategic teams building the platform.

2. How should the salary bands be understood?

Intentionally broad — and indicated at every point. We differentiate based on track record and market value, not on degree: scarce, highly sought-after profiles at the upper end, less scarce ones at the lower end. We calibrate exclusively on the market — two people with similar experience can earn differently with us.

3. How much — and how — do you work at Vogel?

We measure by what you achieve, not by hours. However, it's also true: those looking for a 9-to-5 are not our primary choice. We seek people who work intensively out of their own initiative because the tasks are worthwhile. How you manage your time is largely up to you. What we share: we work collaboratively in person — culture, sparring, and the best ideas emerge from daily proximity. We are not a remote company and do not have extensive home office policies; individual remote days are not a problem.

4. How does the application process work?

Lean, fast, transparent — and staggered by profile. For entry-level roles (internship, working student, entry-level hire), two interviews and a short work sample are usually sufficient; experienced roles are somewhat more extensive. For selected senior roles, we are considering incorporating a joint workday in the future to allow both sides to get to know each other better. It always applies: scheduled appointments, swift decision, substantial feedback — regardless of the outcome.

5. How does variable compensation work?

Performance-linked quarterly, assessed qualitatively. The scale increases with the level: up to 20% Associate, 27.5% Manager, 35% Senior Manager, 42.5% Director, 50% VP. The expected value for good performance — you meet the requirements, set your own accents, pass the keeper test — is around 50% of the maximum; the maximum bonus is not the norm. The focus is on a holistic assessment by your manager: ownership, quality, learning curve, collaboration, impact.

6. How do I develop myself — what career paths are there?

Two active paths: Mastery (technical depth, expert career) and Pioneer (leadership, management). You choose the direction after onboarding, usually in years 1-3. Entry-level hire is not a special path, but the early part of the same journey — from working student or intern to Associate, for the best without a new application process.

7. Team, Culture, Vacation?

A shared lunch is an open daily offering — not mandatory; whoever wishes can join, everyone can eat at any time. In addition, dinners, social events, and offsites at regular intervals — not as a mandatory program, but because a good team also shares time outside of work. Benefits: well-thought-out and substantial, not symbolic. Vacation: 28 days.

8. I know someone — is there a referral bonus?

Yes — €2,500 for each successfully filled position (no internships). A brief context is sufficient: who you are thinking of, for which role, why. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it must be substantial.
