Internal Controller

For Work and Income Lekstroom, we are looking for an Internal Controller. You are responsible for internal control of Work and Income Lekstroom (WIL). As the primary point of contact and representative for internal control, you advise on and develop policy across a broad field. You check whether the organization is in control and whether risks are adequately covered with internal controls. An important part of your function is providing a justification report. You perform control activities necessary to achieve a justification report, such as SiSa (Single Information Single Audit), risk analyses, and specific criteria for the justification report. You advise on issues and processes of tactical and operational nature, which are guided by policy choices within the field. You also ensure the implementation and execution of these issues and processes.

Your tasks include:

• Performing analyses of process descriptions;
• Finding risks in process descriptions and advising on risk management;
• Ensuring the implementation of risk control measures;
• Preparing VIC (Verbijzonderde interne controle) plans and translating them per process into IC programs;
• Carrying out internal controls with the accountant;
• Preparing reports with findings and advising on the necessary actions;
• Maintaining important changes in legislation and regulations, and ensuring implementation thereof;
• Serving as a sparring partner and maintaining contact with colleagues involved in second-line controls.

Organization
Work and Income Lekstroom (WIL) is the execution organization for work, income, and debt relief for the municipalities of Houten, IJsselstein, Lopik, and Nieuwegein. From the City Hall in Nieuwegein and partly also on location, more than 200 people work towards helping their clients. They provide income support and grant benefits where necessary. They also encourage people to participate actively in society. At WIL, we work from a person-centered approach. Where possible, we tailor our approach within the existing legislation and regulations.
