International Buyer

Wegh Group spa is selecting for its Prato plant a SENIOR BUYER DEDICATED TO THE FOREIGN MARKET.

They will be responsible for managing, in complete autonomy, all phases related to the purchasing process and will in particular be dedicated to scouting, visits, and validation of new foreign suppliers.

They will be called upon to plan and manage the company's supplies and to coordinate and control the purchasing activities of goods and services, with a view to optimizing inventory, improving flows and warehousing processes, and reducing costs.

Main responsibilities:

- scouting and selection of suppliers, particularly foreign ones, in response to the quality requirements requested by the company. Ensure contractual security, also verifying financial solidity

- ensure a constant search for new suppliers.

- Activate continuous improvement of foreign suppliers' performance (costs, quality, service, innovation), setting up scouting and global sourcing activities, i.e., the continuous search for higher quality products and services at lower prices both nationally and internationally

- stipulate purchase contracts, manage orders at an administrative level (through the use of management software) maintaining direct commercial relationships with suppliers, national and international.

- will be responsible for managing material stocks and the documentary archive

- Elaborate purchase budgets and annual targets (volumes, prices, ...)

- validate and contact selected suppliers and negotiate purchase terms and supply conditions: quantities, timing, prices, delivery methods.

- verify and ensure compliance with agreed procedures (delivery times, product quality, payments...), also in collaboration with the quality control department

- contact with suppliers for any complaints and returns.

- Ensure “Internal Customer Satisfaction” and always operate with professional ethics

• professional experience required: 10 years as a BUYER in companies operating in the metalworking sector, preferably working on a project basis.
• language skills: fluent English is essential and will be tested during the interview.
• professional skills: Basic training and experience in mechanical processing: ability to read technical drawings, knowledge of various types of processing, ability to evaluate work cycles, ability to evaluate supplier performance, etc.
• who their supervisor is: Production or Division Manager
• who they collaborate with: Commercial and technical office of the same BU, other purchasing, quality, HSEQ staff.
• required educational path: technical mechanical educational background
• technical / IT skills: knowledge of Navision Microsoft management software is welcome and excellent use of Excel
• candidate's personal characteristics: maximum availability for worldwide travel and business trips, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to summarize and technical analysis; determination, professional transparency; ability to work towards objectives and under tight deadlines.
• work location: PRATO with working hours 8.30 am – 5.30 pm
• % travel in Italy or abroad: possible up to 30-40% of the time (foreign suppliers, trade fairs, suppliers in Italy, other Wegh plants)

JOB LEVEL AND ANNUAL GROSS SALARY (RAL) FOR THE POSITION: 4th or 5th Level of the CCNL Metalmeccanici CONFAPI, RAL included in the range €35,000 - €45,000 per year, to be evaluated based on previous experience, language skills, and the candidate's evaluation during the interview.
