Internal Auditor

A leading academic institution is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor with strong experience in risk management, internal controls, and financial auditing to join their team in Cape Town on a 12-month contract. This is a thrilling opportunity for a professionally skilled Internal Auditor to drive compliance and efficiency across various departments by identifying risks, assessing internal controls, and recommending process improvements. As an Internal Auditor, your responsibilities will include: • Conducting audits of various departments to identify areas of risk and non-compliance; • Developing and implementing audit plans and procedures; • Identifying and assessing internal controls and recommending improvements; • Providing recommendations for process improvements and best practices; • Collaborating with department heads and other stakeholders to implement changes; • Maintaining accurate records of audits, findings, and recommendations. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; • 5+ years of experience in financial auditing and risk management; • Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management principles; • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
