C Programming Solid proficiency in C: Understanding of manual memory management (allocation/deallocation) and the importance of proper variable initialization. Code navigation skills: Ability to effectively move through large, multi-repository codebases using tools like grep, ctags, cscope. Fundamental hardware concepts: Clear understanding of pointers, memory layout (stack vs. heap), and bitwise operations. Development workflow & build systems Version control: Practical Git experience (committing, pushing, pulling, branching). Familiarity with Makefiles, CMake, or similar build systems. Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded system development principles, including interrupt handling, timer management, and memory-mapped I/O. Microcontrollers: Understanding of microcontroller-based systems, including programming languages like C, assembly language, or Python. Operating Systems: Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux, Windows, or macOS. Debugging: Ability to effectively debug code using tools like GDB, lldb, or the debugger built into your IDE. Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate and contribute to open-source projects.
