THE ROLE: As an Intermediate Technical Designer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining various systems that support gameplay and content creation. You will work closely with other designers, programmers, and artists to implement and refine game features. You will be expected to balance technical needs with design goals, providing creative and efficient solutions. WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Design, implement, and maintain gameplay systems and features, such as enemy AI, player abilities, and level mechanics. * Collaborate with other departments to ensure technical feasibility and optimal performance of game features. * Debug and troubleshoot technical issues related to gameplay systems. * Write clear and concise technical documentation. * Contribute to the improvement of existing tools and workflows. * Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies. * Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. * Optimize game performance and memory usage. WHAT YOU BRING: * 2+ years of experience in game development as a Technical Designer or similar role. * Strong understanding of game design principles and methodologies. * Proficiency in scripting languages such as Lua or Python. * Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity is an asset. * Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Passion for video games and a desire to create high-quality gaming experiences. * Experience working on shipped games is a plus.
