About Us

MTC Dandenong Incorporated provides commercial vehicle cover and related services for taxi, rideshare and other commercial vehicle operators, including drivers operating through platforms such as Uber, Ola and DiDi. Our services include vehicle cover enquiries, quotations, renewals, accident assistance, claims support and customer service.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Insurance Agent to join our team and assist customers with their insurance and commercial vehicle cover requirements.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with insurance and vehicle cover enquiries, understanding their individual requirements, explaining available coverage options, preparing quotations, coordinating renewals and supporting claims-related processes.

The role requires strong customer service skills, insurance industry knowledge and the ability to manage client information and vehicle-related documentation accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to identify their insurance and commercial vehicle cover requirements.
• Assess customer needs based on vehicle type, usage, operating conditions and relevant risk factors.
• Explain available insurance and vehicle cover options, including premiums, benefits, conditions and exclusions.
• Prepare quotations and assist with insurance applications, policy renewals and amendments.
• Review existing client arrangements and assist with changes to coverage requirements.
• Assist customers with accident-related enquiries, claims documentation and follow-ups.
• Liaise with claims personnel, vehicle repair workshops and relevant service providers regarding claims and vehicle assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of customer information, vehicle details, insurance policies and cover arrangements.
• Respond to customer enquiries through telephone, email and face-to-face communication.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with taxi drivers, rideshare operators and commercial vehicle owners.
• Ensure client documentation is processed accurately and confidentially.
• Follow company policies, applicable insurance regulations and financial services compliance requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• Qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Insurance or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in insurance services, customer consultation, policy administration or a closely related field.
• Good understanding of insurance products, premiums, coverage conditions, renewals and claims procedures.
• Experience identifying customer insurance needs and explaining policy benefits and conditions.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle insurance, commercial vehicle cover or transport-related insurance services will be advantageous.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer relationship management skills.
• Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic recordkeeping and customer management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple customer enquiries and work independently.
• Understanding of privacy, confidentiality and applicable insurance industry compliance standards.
• Any required financial services training or authorisation relevant to the duties performed.
