Job description

As the installation manager, you ensure that our metro trains and trams run safely through the city. You combine technical expertise with practical safety knowledge and assist colleagues daily with clear guidelines for working with electricity.

What you will do

You are formally designated as the installation manager for the electrical systems of the rolling stock. You establish safety guidelines, provide clear instructions to colleagues, and support them in safely measuring, testing, and repairing vehicles. You keep procedures and safety documents up-to-date and ensure they align with the practical realities in workshops and depots.

From the start, you will be involved in technical projects such as the introduction of new metro trains, modernization of drive systems, and implementation of battery and charging systems. You will assess design choices for electrical safety, participate in project teams, and determine the necessary measures for safe testing and commissioning.

You will identify risks and translate them into practical measures and training programs. You will also develop training materials and keep the safety handbook updated. In case of malfunctions or unexpected situations, you will make quick decisions and determine what is safe.

What we offer you

  • Salary between € 4,170 and € 6,004 gross per month for 36 hours (scale 10A)
  • 13th month, 8% holiday pay, and 1.5% sustainable employability allowance
  • Free unlimited travel with GVB public transport
  • An average of 21 days off per year with the option to buy more
  • Healthcare insurance allowance of € 84.91 per month
  • Extensive training and career development opportunities

What makes this position interesting

You fulfill a crucial, independent role in the safety of public transport. You have a direct impact on the safety of colleagues and passengers. The work is varied: from strategic projects to acute fault situations. You work in an expert, collegial team that continuously improves the safety culture.

What we are looking for in you

You can assess electrical risks in vehicle systems and have sufficient electrical engineering insight to analyze installations. You are strong in structure and assurance, work meticulously, and keep procedures up-to-date. You can coach people and involve them in safety by clearly explaining why certain actions are risky.

You take responsibility, dare to make decisions, and stop work if safety requires it. You can also exert influence without formal hierarchy by communicating clearly and guarding frameworks.

Your team

You will join the KVAM department within the Advice & Management workgroup. You will collaborate with safety experts, trainers, and policy advisors in a team that continuously improves the technical expertise and safety culture within Rolling Stock.
