Job description

The activities are carried out within the Advice & Quality section of the Systems & Analysis department of the Materiel Logistics Command (MatlogCo). MatlogCo aims to provide modern, robust, safe, and high-quality equipment to all operational users of the armed forces.

The objective of the Systems & Analysis department is to contribute to optimizing the maintenance and achieving the required materiel availability of ground-based systems throughout their entire lifecycle. Within the Advice & Quality section, evaluation groups and the aftercare team aim to gain current insight into the technical condition of the (inspected) materiel and the performed maintenance. They advise on materiel logistics processes at unit level within CLAS units through product and process audits. The section guides users, advises commanders, and makes improvement proposals in the field of OLM-ILM maintenance.

Activities

As an Equipment Maintenance Inspector, you will perform a varied and responsible range of tasks. You will focus primarily on the following core areas:

Control of the maintenance process

You will control the execution of the maintenance process through thorough inspections and audits. In this:

• You will study and verify the requirements that maintenance must meet;
• You will accurately record the identified data and findings;
• You will report structural shortcomings to the commander of the evaluation team.

Control of customer's equipment

You will monitor the quality of the equipment by:

• Studying and verifying the requirements that the equipment must meet;
• Recording and discussing the identified data with the evaluation team;
• Reporting structural shortcomings to the commander.

Advising and Assistance

You will support and advise the evaluation team by:

• Collecting relevant information and interpreting its usability;
• Formulating and presenting various proactive advice proposals;
• Overseeing (and ensuring) the correct implementation of given advice and improvements.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you are accountable to the commander of the evaluation team regarding the execution and results of your work. The framework is formed by current guidelines, publications, procedures, handbooks, and regulations; these form the basis for preparing your reports and advice. You will have the independence and scope to make decisions about the content of your requested, and certainly also unsolicited, advice.

Job requirements

• Educational level MBO-3.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the field of maintenance materiel.
• Knowledge of guidelines and procedures in the field of materiel logistics.
• Knowledge of quality management systems.

Desired:

• Educational level MBO-4
• Knowledge of SAP.

Location & Specifics

Please note: this is a travelling position where your place of residence practically serves as your base location. For the execution of the work, you will be on the road frequently (PNOD required). Furthermore, you are willing to follow additional courses and maintenance training related to your duties. In this role, you can also act as a mentor for colleagues, such as C-ODBgp, C-DAAgp, or equivalent officials.

Other employment conditions

From 2025 onwards, defense employees will no longer receive holiday pay and the year-end bonus as separate payments. Instead, they will accrue these monthly via the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB for defense employees totals 16.33 percent of their salary. With the IKB, defense employees can decide for themselves when, for what, and how much budget they spend on time, money, or fiscal facilities. This can be up to the monthly accrued budget. The IKB can be used for:

• A maximum of 15 percent of the salary can be used monthly for the exchange of the commuting allowance.
• The monthly difference between the contribution towards the costs of private transport for commuting and the fiscal maximum.
• A bicycle for personal use, including bicycle accessories and bicycle insurance.

Specifics

• A security screening (VGB) is part of the application process.
• It is necessary that you, as a civilian applicant, have Dutch nationality. The ability to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is a condition for employment. This involves a background check on, among other things, criminal records and financial matters, which takes an average of 8 weeks.
