They are now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Auckland office.

This role sits at the heart of the business, providing high level legal support to the General Manager and contributing to a wide range of organisational legal activity. A key focus of the role is reviewing, negotiating and advising on contracts across the business, ensuring risk is managed and opportunities are maximised.

What the role involves
You will assist the General Manager with all legal services across the organisation. This includes:
Advising the Board and management team
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts across commercial, regulatory, and operational areas
Supporting compliance activity and ensuring governance obligations are met
Contributing to guidance for members on legal and regulatory matters
Leading key projects that have organisational and sector-wide impact

About you
4 - 6 years PQE
Strong experience advising on commercial, regulatory or public law matters
Proven experience in contract review and negotiation
Able to work independently while contributing to a cohesive team
Skilled at prioritising varied workloads and managing competing demands
Confident communicator with strong relationship skills and sound judgement
Pragmatic, proactive and solutions driven
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same
