Distribution System Engineer

We are looking for a Distribution System Engineer specializing in Electric Power Distribution Networks to join our team. Job Purpose:

The Distribution System Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, optimizing and monitoring the performance of electric power distribution networks. This ensures efficient, safe and reliable operation of the network, adapting it to the changing demands of consumers and integrating renewable energy sources.

Main Responsibilities:

• Network Analysis and Modeling:
• • Performing power flow studies, short circuit analysis and stability evaluation.
  • Modeling the network using specialized software (e.g., PSS/ADEPT, ETAP).
  • Evaluating the impact of connecting new consumers or renewable energy sources.
• Network Design and Optimization:
• • Designing new distribution networks or expanding existing ones.
  • Optimizing network configuration to reduce losses and improve energy quality.
  • Planning investments in modernizing and developing the network.
• Network Monitoring and Control:
• • Analyzing SCADA data to monitor network performance.
  • Identifying and diagnosing network operation problems.
  • Participating in developing and implementing control strategies for the network.
• Renewable Energy Source Integration:
• • Evaluating the impact of connecting renewable energy sources (wind, solar) on the network.
  • Developing solutions to ensure stability and safety of the network in conditions of integrating renewable energy sources.
• Compliance and Regulations:
• • Ensuring compliance with relevant technical standards and regulations.
  • Participating in developing procedures and technical instructions.
  • Ensuring network security.

Abilities and Qualifications:

• Education:
• • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering or related fields.
• Experience:
• • Relevant experience in designing, operating or analyzing electric power distribution networks.
  • Solid knowledge of the principles of electric power network operation and electrical equipment.
• Tech Skills:
• • Knowledge of software for modeling and simulating electric power networks (e.g., PSS/ADEPT, ETAP).
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and network management systems (DMS).
  • Knowledge about renewable energy sources and energy storage technologies.
• General Skills:
• • Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Aspects (Optional):

• Certifications relevant to electric power distribution networks or renewable energy.
• Experience in smart grid modernization projects.
• Knowledge about market regulations for electricity.
