Senior IT Engineer

🔍 General Job Description:

We are looking for a competent and proactive Senior IT Engineer to manage and support the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, user systems, and security protocols. This role is essential for ensuring system reliability, security, and performance as well as internal connectivity. You will be responsible for maintaining physical and virtual servers, providing user support, managing network equipment, and ensuring optimal functioning of the entire IT infrastructure.

🛠️ Main Responsibilities:

🔧 System Administration:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and/or Linux servers (physical and virtual).
• Managing Active Directory, group policies, file/print services, and backups.
• Monitoring system performance and resolving hardware/software issues.
• Applying system updates, firmware, and security configurations.
• Monitoring and administering virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

🌐 Network Administration:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitoring network performance and resolving connectivity issues.
• Implementing and maintaining VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
• Ensuring network security through firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Administering internet and intranet services.

🔒 Security & Compliance:

• Implementing and maintaining best practices for IT system and network security.
• Performing periodic audits and vulnerability evaluations.
• Maintaining backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

👥 User Support & Documentation:

• Providing technical support of levels 1/2/3 for escalated issues.
• Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for systems, networks, and procedures.
• Instructing employees on good practices and IT policies.

✅ Mandatory Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in system and/or network administration.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file systems.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
• Understanding of IT security principles and practices.

💡 Preferred Requirements:

• Certifications in special fields such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Cisco (CCNA), VMware (VCP).
• Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
