HVAC Design Engineer

Job Description

Join our team as an HVAC Design Engineer and contribute to the development of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning projects for civil, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure buildings, from concept to execution documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical documentation for HVAC - heating, cooling, ventilation, and air conditioning installations, depending on project requirements and design phases.
• Propose and size technical solutions for thermal and refrigeration power plants, ventilation and air conditioning systems, thermal and refrigerant agent distribution, as well as ductwork networks.
• Perform calculations for thermal and cooling demand, airflows, pressure drops, and other HVAC-specific calculations.
• Select and size specific equipment: air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, rooftop units, fan coils, fans, pumps, heat exchangers, and other related equipment.
• Create plans, functional diagrams, schematic diagrams, execution details, and other technical drawings using specific design software.
• Prepare bills of quantities, equipment lists, technical specifications, and supporting documents necessary for design and execution.
• Analyze client requirements and base documentation to establish the optimal solution from a technical, functional, and energy perspective.
• Oversee the integration of HVAC installations with automation and BMS systems, including defining relevant functional requirements for equipment control.
• Collaborate with electrical, BMS, security, architectural, structural, plumbing teams, and other involved specialties.
• Participate in technical meetings and coordination discussions with clients, designers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Provide technical support during execution and contribute to clarifying issues arising on-site.
• Update project documentation based on changes occurring during implementation.
• Participate, when necessary, in site visits, technical inspections, and determinant phases.
• Adhere to delivery deadlines and quality standards assumed within projects.

Ideal Candidate

Education and Experience

• Completed higher education in Building Services, Installation Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing HVAC installations for civil, commercial, industrial, or logistics buildings.
• Solid knowledge of designing and sizing heating, cooling, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Experience in sizing and selecting HVAC equipment and related distribution networks.
• Good knowledge of applicable design codes and standards in the field.
• Experience using design software such as AutoCAD and Revit; experience with MagiCAD or other specialized installation design applications is an advantage.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and draft clear, complete, and well-structured documentation.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• English language - advanced level.
• Experience in projects including BMS, HVAC automation, energy efficiency solutions, or other related systems is an advantage.
• Experience in designing and coordinating projects in a BIM system is an advantage.
