Food Industry Engineer – QA Specialist (Production & Laboratory)

Description of the position

In the context of a quality and food safety management system certified by IFS Food, ensures the control of quality “end-to-end” (reception–process–packaging–finished product) and manages self-control activities in the laboratory, ensuring compliance with specifications, traceability, handling non-conformities (NC) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), as well as maintaining audit-able records.

Responsibilities

• Receiving raw materials/packaging: visual and quantitative inspections, sensory/organoleptic evaluations, integrity, lotting, and documental conformity; decisions on acceptance, hold or segregation of lots, according to specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Control over flow and packaging: compliance with labeling (TDV, origin, lot, weight, barcode) and integrity/ tightness of packaging; monitoring MAP parameters and routine verifications of calibrations/metrological verifications for control equipment (e.g. metal detectors, belt scales).
• Production/deposit monitoring: temperature/humidity; verification of compliance with the cleaning plan and related records.
• Laboratory internal (self-control): taking samples (reception/flow/final product), managing counter-probes and registers; performing analyses according to the plan (e.g. humidity, aw, salt content, sanitation/allergens), including sending samples and monitoring received results from external laboratories.
• QA documentation: preparing and revising periodic technical specifications and nutritional/informational labeling; compiling reception reports and issuing communications/notifications to the Purchasing Department.
• IFS Food: participating in internal audits and maintaining system conformity; controlling documents/records, managing NC/CAPA, verifying traceability and exercising recall exercises.

Requirements

• Studies: Foood Industry Engineer (or similar).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the food industry (QA/QC, production and/or laboratory).
• Work experience in a certified food safety management system (IFS Food, BRCGS, FSSC 22000/ISO 22000) and participation in internal audits; familiarity with IFS Food requirements is an advantage.
• Excel/ERP: applied skills for reporting, evidence, and traceability (workflows QA).
