Geotechnical Engineer – Railway and Road Infrastructure Design

We are looking for a dedicated Geotechnical Engineer passionate about infrastructure works design, to join our team for the development of complex projects in the field of railway and road infrastructure.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering / Civil Engineering, with a relevant specialization in geotechnical engineering;

- Minimum 3 years of experience in geotechnical design;

- Good knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering;

- Experience in interpreting geotechnical studies and in preparing and/or verifying geotechnical calculations;

- Experience in railway and road infrastructure projects;

- Experience in geotechnical design related to civil constructions and transport infrastructure related facilities;

- Solid knowledge of current technical regulations and standards;

- Knowledge of English and/or Spanish at a professional/technical level is an advantage;

- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team;

- Availability for site visits, site inspections, and business travel;

- Category B driver's license.

Job Description:

- Preparation and verification of specialized geotechnical documentation;

- Interpretation of geotechnical studies and site investigations;

- Creation and interpretation of geotechnical models;

- Performing calculations and verifications for foundations, embankments, slopes, and retaining structures;

- Performing stability analyses for slopes and hillsides;

- Dimensioning and verification of geotechnical solutions for railway and road infrastructure;

- Preparation of technical solutions for ground improvement and consolidation works, as applicable;

- Collaboration with specialized infrastructure engineers, bridge engineers, structural engineers, drainage engineers, and other specialists;

- Participation in the preparation of documentation for the SF, DTAC, PT, DE stages, as applicable;

- Drafting technical reports, calculation briefs, and written/drawn components;

- Verification of the conformity of solutions with applicable regulations and standards;

- Collaboration with laboratories and teams conducting geotechnical investigations;

- Participation in technical meetings with clients and other designers.
