We are recruiting a Thermohydraulic Engineer APROS to join our teams in Lyon within our Numerical Simulation agency, specializing in scientific computing, modeling, complex physical phenomena studies, and the development of high-value-added digital solutions.

As part of an innovative project in the field of advanced modular nuclear reactors, you will be involved in basic design and thermo-hydraulic simulation activities, with a strong emphasis on using the APROS software.

Your missions

• Conduct thermo-hydraulic modeling studies on nuclear systems in the design phase;
• Develop, build, and evolve simulation models using APROS;
• Perform simulations in normal, transient, incidental, and accidental regimes;
• Contribute to basic design activities supporting system studies and design choices;
• Define calculation hypotheses, boundary conditions, and scenarios studied;
• Analyze results, identify discrepancies, and propose optimization or technical justification avenues;
• Participate in verifying performance and safety criteria;
• Write calculation notes, technical documents, and study reports;
• Present results and interact with project teams and technical stakeholders.

With a Bac+5 degree (engineering school or master's) or a doctorate in a scientific or technical field, you have initial experience in thermo-hydraulics, system simulation, or nuclear studies.

Expected Skills

• Mastery or very good practice of the APROS software;
• Solid knowledge of thermo-hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and physical modeling;
• Strong interest in complex energy systems and the challenges of the nuclear sector;
• Knowledge of the operation of nuclear facilities or complex thermal systems;
• Ability to rigorously exploit and interpret calculation results;
• Knowledge of Python is a plus;
• Proficiency in version control tools like Git or SVN is appreciated;
• A good level of technical English is an asset.
