Scientific Mediation and Research Valorization Engineer

1- JOB ENVIRONMENT

A leading general engineering school of IMT-Institut Mines-Télécom, France's foremost engineering school group, IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and leverage scientific and technical excellence for teaching, research, and innovation.

The position is attached to the Interdisciplinary Department of Social Sciences (DI2S), which brings together male and female researchers in management sciences, sociology, economics, and law. On the Nantes campus, research focuses on the analysis of organizational and professional transformations in socio-technical systems. Three areas of investigation are prioritized: industry, health, and the environment. The candidate will be affiliated with LEMNA (Laboratoire Économie et Management Nantes Atlantique).

More specifically, the position will be attached to the RESOH Chair [Research in Security, Organizations, Humans]. The research work, at the interface of sociology and management, focuses on the functioning of high-risk organizations. Starting from the analysis of work and work organizations, the objective is to illuminate the socio-organizational, managerial, and institutional dimensions that contribute to (or prevent) the maintenance of a level of reliability compatible with safety and production requirements. The Chair's research is conducted in close collaboration with industrial and institutional partners. It aims to produce scientific knowledge based on field surveys, but also to encourage discussion, adoption, and mobilization of this knowledge by the stakeholders concerned. In this context, the Chair wishes to strengthen its capabilities in valorizing, disseminating, and facilitating the adoption of its work, both by its current partners and, more broadly, by the socio-economic world.

2- MISSIONS

In collaboration with all the male and female researchers of the team (permanent and associated), the missions are:

1- Participate in the collective research dynamic within the Chair

2- Structure and valorize the results of the Chair's research

3- Facilitate the adoption of these results by the Chair's industrial and institutional partners (internal component)

4- Contribute to the Chair's influence in the socio-economic world (external component)

3- ACTIVITIES:Activity per mission

1. Participate in the collective research dynamic within the Chair

· Actively contributes to coordination meetings, discussion forums, and research seminars (within the RESOH research team and with partners)

2. Valorize and disseminate the results of the Chair's research

· Maps the Chair's main works, results, and productions;

· Identifies audiences likely to be interested in these results;

· Analyzes their needs and expectations;

· Contributes to defining valorization and communication strategies adapted to different projects;

· Contributes to the organization of scientific events (study days, conferences, etc.);

· Transforms scientific results into resources accessible to non-specialist audiences, without losing scientific rigor, nuance, or scope (syntheses, research notes, thematic fact sheets, presentation materials, digital content, or other formats adapted to the target audiences).

3. Facilitate the adoption of research work by the Chair's industrial and institutional partners (internal component)

· Prepares and organizes work restitutions;

· Designs and leads workshops or exchange sessions;

· Prepares materials adapted to the partners' concerns;

· Gathers their reactions, questions, and needs;

· Relays the questions and expectations expressed by the partners to the researchers;

· Contributes to identifying the conditions that favor the adoption of results.

4. Contribute to the Chair's influence in the socio-economic world (external component)

· Identifies organizations, networks, and actors likely to be interested in the Chair's work;

· Develops and maintains relationships with industrial, institutional, and professional actors;

· Identifies relevant events;

· Prepares the Chair's participation in professional and scientific events;

· Participates in the organization of the Chair's scientific events (conferences, lectures, study days)

· Contributes to developing new formats for interaction between researchers and practitioners;

· Participates in building communities of interest around certain research themes.

Minimum education level and/or experience required:

· Doctorate

· Master's degree (Bac + 5) or equivalent

· Bachelor's degree (Bac + 4) or equivalent with professional experience ≥ 4 years

In particular in the following fields:

· Sociology;

· Management sciences;

· Political science;

· Information and communication sciences;

· Scientific mediation or communication;

· Knowledge valorization and transfer.

Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

· A good understanding of how academic research works

· Ability to quickly understand complex scientific work;

· Ability to identify and synthesize the main results of research;

· Aptitude for dialogue with scientists and respect for scientific rigor requirements.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is appreciated:

· Valorization or dissemination of research results;

· Scientific mediation or communication;

· Knowledge transfer or circulation;

· Relationships between research and the socio-economic world;

· Research project management;

· Network management of partners;

· Organization of scientific or professional events;

SALARY INDICATIONS:

💰 Indicative salary: from €33,748 gross per year, depending on profile and experience (reduced employee contributions in the public sector).
