Job description

TEHORA is seeking a qualified forestry engineer to join its team and ensure the provision of quality services to its clients. The successful candidate will be involved in various projects related to forest inventory, mapping, and geospatial analysis, primarily within the framework of public sector mandates. The position mainly works from home across Quebec, with occasional travel required for operational needs. Active membership in good standing with the Order of Foresters of Quebec (OIFQ) is required.

Responsibilities

  • To conduct and supervise forest inventories and field surveys in accordance with current standards.
  • To control, analyze, and structure the data collected.
  • To perform vectorization and geospatial processing of data within SIG environments (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • To write technical reports, produce maps, and conduct analyses that meet contractual requirements.
  • To collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure compliance and quality of deliverables.
  • To participate in planning and organizing project activities.
  • To contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry engineering or related field.
  • To be an active member in good standing with the OIFQ (mandatory).
  • Mastery of SIG tools (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) in a professional context.
  • Excellent writing skills for producing technical documents.
  • A proven ability to work independently from home.
  • Rigour, sense of organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Salary

The salary will be established based on the average hourly rate corresponding to the profile of the selected candidate.

Workplace

Telework across the Quebec territory. Adjustments to location and occasional visits to clients may be required depending on project needs.
