HVAC-R Design Engineer – 80% / 100% - Permanent Contract

As part of the development of our activities, CGC Energie SA is looking for an HVAC-R Design Engineer to strengthen its Maintenance Works department.

HVAC-R Design Engineer – 80% / 100% - Permanent Contract

Location: Thônex, 1226 (5 min TPG, 10 min Leman Express)

Start Date: Immediate or to be agreed upon

Your Mission

Under the responsibility of the Works Manager of the Maintenance department, you will be involved in all phases of HVAC-R project design, from needs analysis to supporting their realization. As a true technical referent, you will ensure the link between client needs, solution design, and their implementation in the field.

Design and Conception (SIA Phases 1, 2, and 31 to 33)

• Analyze client needs, specifications, and technical constraints;
• Design and dimension HVAC-R installations;
• Perform or review technical calculations: thermal balances, flow rates, power, pressure drops, hydraulic and aerodynamic networks;
• Develop and review schematic diagrams, plans, and technical documents;
• Study variants to optimize energy performance, costs, and installation operation;
• Ensure the technical feasibility of solutions in collaboration with the works and operations teams.

Estimating and Bidding

• Perform quantity take-offs, estimations, and cost calculations;
• Consult suppliers and subcontractors and analyze their proposals;
• Participate in the development of technical and commercial offers;
• Seek variants and optimizations to improve the relevance and competitiveness of offers;
• Participate, when necessary, in refinement and negotiation phases.

Project Monitoring and Client Relations

• Act as the technical point of contact for clients, representatives, and partners;
• Advise clients and propose solutions tailored to their needs and constraints;
• Identify and coordinate the necessary authorizations and administrative procedures for projects;
• Ensure effective information transfer to the teams responsible for execution;
• Provide your technical expertise during construction and contribute to resolving encountered issues.

Quality, Compliance, and Safety

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, requirements, and regulations;
• Integrate quality, safety, and energy efficiency requirements from the design stage;
• Identify technical risks and constraints and propose appropriate measures;
• Participate in the continuous improvement of work methods and service quality.

Your Profile

• Degree from an HES or EPF university of applied sciences/federal institute of technology, or equivalent qualification in climate, thermal, energy, or HVAC engineering;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design in Switzerland;
• Solid knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and hydraulics;
• Good knowledge of air treatment, thermal balances, and building physics;
• Knowledge of building control systems and technical management;
• Good command of applicable Swiss standards and regulations, as well as SIA service phases;
• Knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD is an asset;
• Experience in construction realization or supervision is also an advantage.
