Automation Technology Engineer / Automation Technician (m/f/d)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Technology Engineer / Automation Technician (m/f/d) to take on technical responsibility for our Facilities Monitoring and Control System (FMCS) – the system that ensures the operation of our production. It monitors all supply media and technical facilities, from cleanroom air and chilled water systems to process cooling and exhaust air, as well as energy monitoring.

The system is supplied and commissioned by an external integrator. After handover, the responsibility lies with you. The system does not need to be developed from scratch – rather, you will understand the system so well that reliable operation is ensured, malfunctions are analyzed and resolved, expansions for growth from pilot line to series production are implemented, and external service providers can be professionally managed.

If the FMCS reports a malfunction at 3:00 AM, you are the person who knows what to do.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the operation, monitoring, and continuous optimization of the FMCS to ensure trouble-free factory operation

• Maintenance, diagnosis, and adjustment of SCADA and PLC systems, especially Siemens WinCC OA or Yokogawa DCS Centum and Siemens S7 controllers

• Analysis and resolution of malfunctions, alarms, and communication problems with supply and production facilities during ongoing operation

• Performing loop checks, signal tests, and troubleshooting on field devices, instruments, and automation components

• Maintenance and further development of the system through the integration of new data points, visualizations, reports, and alarm concepts, as well as ensuring up-to-date technical documentation

• Technical point of contact for external service providers, suppliers, and auditors, as well as support for qualifications, acceptances, and change control processes

These Qualifications You Bring

• Completed training as an Electronics Technician for Automation Technology with further training as a State-Certified Technician or a completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a comparable field of study

• Several years of practical experience with industrial SCADA and PLC systems in a production or industrial environment, ideally in operation, maintenance, or commissioning

• In-depth knowledge of Siemens S7 controllers (TIA Portal / STEP 7) and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting running systems

• Experience with SCADA systems, ideally Siemens WinCC OA or Yokogawa DCS Centum; knowledge of comparable platforms is also welcome

• Practical experience with field instrumentation, loop checks, signal diagnostics, and reading P&ID diagrams, circuit diagrams, and I/O lists

• Structured, self-reliant way of working with a high degree of quality awareness

• Very good English skills, German skills are an advantage
