Microsoft Exchange Engineer

SUMMARY The position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's Microsoft Exchange environment. This function ensures the reliability, performance, and security of email systems and related messaging infrastructure. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business operations and drive continuous improvement of messaging services. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage the organization's Microsoft Exchange environment. Monitor the performance and capacity of the Exchange environment and proactively address any issues. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Exchange-related issues, including email delivery, connectivity, and client access. Manage user mailboxes, distribution groups, and other Exchange objects. Implement and maintain Exchange security policies, including spam filtering, malware protection, and data loss prevention (DLP). Manage and maintain Exchange servers, including patching, updates, and backups. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the integration of Exchange with other systems and applications. Document Exchange configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Stay up-to-date with the latest Exchange technologies and best practices. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for Exchange-related issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Proven experience in the design, implementation, and management of Microsoft Exchange environments. Strong understanding of Exchange architecture, including servers, databases, and client access. Experience with Exchange Online and hybrid deployments is a plus. Experience with Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and advanced threat protection (ATP). Strong understanding of email protocols, including SMTP, POP3, and IMAP. Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert are a plus.
