Job description
Job Objective:
Ensure the efficient, stable, and secure operation of the organization's network infrastructure, providing technical support to users and resolving problems related to network connectivity and performance, maintaining the availability of communication systems and contributing to the continuous improvement of the network environment through the implementation of solutions and best practices in administration and security.
Main Activities:
- Proactively monitor the status and performance of the network, ensuring its correct operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on network equipment such as routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Detect, diagnose, and resolve connectivity and performance issues in LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks.
- Provide technical support to users to resolve network access problems, slowness, or connection failures.
- Install, configure, and update network hardware, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and other telecommunications devices.
- Implement changes or improvements in network configuration under the supervision of higher-level engineers.
- Collaborate in the implementation and monitoring of network security policies to protect the infrastructure from threats.
- Monitor and respond to network-related security alerts, helping to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain detailed records of network configuration, hardware inventory, and any changes made to the infrastructure.
- Document technical procedures and create reports on network status or incidents handled.
- Support the implementation of new projects related to network expansion, upgrade, or improvement.
- Work closely with other IT teams and higher support levels to resolve complex issues or plan improvements.
- Utilize monitoring tools to identify network bottlenecks and suggest possible optimization solutions.
- Perform periodic analysis of network performance and propose improvements to increase efficiency.
Competencies:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Telecommunications, or related fields.
- Certifications in CCNA, CCNP CEH or similar.
- Advanced knowledge in Network Protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.
- Configuration and administration of routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and VPNs.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, PRTG, Zabbix, etc.).
- Knowledge of operating systems and network servers.
- Knowledge of protocols such as HTTP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, Telnet, and FTP
- Security in Linux and Windows Servers.
- Knowledge of Disaster Recovery procedures and Services.
- Knowledge of Shell programming – Scripting.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Telecommunications, or related fields.
- Certifications in at least one CCA, CompTIA NETWORK or similar.
- Knowledge in Network Protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.
- Basic knowledge in the configuration and administration of routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and VPNs.
- Basic experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, PRTG, Zabbix, etc.).
- Knowledge of operating systems and network servers.
- Familiarity with protocols HTTP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, Telnet, and FTP
- Basic knowledge in security in Linux and Windows Servers.
- Basic knowledge of Shell programming - Scripting.
