Manufacturing Engineer – Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico Plant

At TekniPlex Healthcare, we are looking for highly specialized talent to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer. This position is responsible for designing, optimizing, and improving production processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing, ensuring the operational continuity of production lines and promoting cost and waste reduction through continuous improvement initiatives.

General Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability and efficiency of production processes, leading continuous improvement projects, process and product validations, resource optimization, cost analysis, and technical support to production. Additionally, they will participate in the introduction of new products, implementation of technologies, and activities aimed at complying with regulatory and quality standards applicable to the medical industry.

Education

• Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.

• Green Belt Certification (desirable).

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing and production processes.

• Experience in continuous improvement focused on process optimization, resource optimization, and cost reduction.

• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments, preferably in the medical industry.

Specific Knowledge, Training, and Skills

1. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
2. Validation of processes, equipment, and products (IQ, OQ, PQ, and Master Validation Plan).
3. Knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485.
4. Quality and engineering tools such as PFMEA, 8D, SPC, Poka-Yoke, SMED, and root cause analysis.
5. Line balancing, manufacturing cost analysis, and resource optimization.
6. Proficiency with engineering tools and CAD software for process and system support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure the operability of production lines through timely resolution of technical problems.
2. Lead and implement continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
3. Design, document, and update processes, work instructions, and line balances.
4. Execute process, product, and equipment validation activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
5. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects and the development of tools or fixtures.
6. Maintain effective communication with clients to provide follow-up on process changes and validations.
7. Apply problem-solving methodologies to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrences.
8. Collaborate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and EHS departments to ensure safe and robust processes.
9. Analyze and optimize manufacturing costs through process improvements and efficient resource utilization.
10. Generate and interpret performance indicators using statistical and process control tools.
11. Drive the implementation of new technologies and best manufacturing practices.
12. Promote high quality standards that ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
