Firmware Engineer

Job Description The Firmware Engineer is a specialized role within the field of software engineering, focusing on the development of embedded software that controls electronic devices. They are responsible for designing, coding, and testing the firmware—the intermediary software that allows hardware to communicate with software. This includes developing algorithms and system-level applications that operate on the device’s firmware. Firmware Engineers work closely with hardware engineers to understand their requirements and develop firmware that meets those needs. The Firmware Engineer will be responsible for: • Designing, coding, and testing firmware for various electronic devices. • Developing algorithms and system-level applications that operate on the device's firmware. • Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure that the firmware meets their requirements. • Troubleshooting and debugging firmware issues. • Participating in code reviews and ensuring compliance with coding standards. The ideal candidate will have: • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in firmware development. • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java. • Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and firmware development tools. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
