Senior Data Engineer

From Workana, we are accompanying the search for a Senior Data Engineer to a fintech company in the financial sector, with regional operations and focus on data, analytics, and risk model support.

The role is oriented towards semi-senior profiles with experience in implementing and maintaining data pipelines, interested in working with large volumes of information in productive environments, within an already defined architecture and with senior profile accompaniment.

The position offers the opportunity to develop technically in a fintech environment, collaborating with Technology, Risk, Product, and Analytics teams, with focus on execution, learning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Education in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or related fields.
• 3 or more years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles.
• Good handling of Python and SQL for data processing.
• Practical experience using tools for processing or orchestration such as Spark, Airflow, or equivalent options.
• Experience working with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Prior experience in fintech or high-volume transactional environments (desirable).

• Built, maintained, and improved batch and real-time data pipelines (ETL/ELT), working on existing architectures.
• Integrated internal and external data sources (core, scoring, antifraud, CRM, etc.).
• Operated and supported the regional Data Lake / Data Warehouse.
• Implemented basic data quality controls and operational validations, following defined guidelines.
• Maintained pipelines and collaborated in resolving incidents and data errors.
• Collaborated on tasks of performance optimization and resource usage in cloud environments.
• Ensured correct availability of data for consumption by BI, Analytics, and risk/ML teams.
• Complied with security policies and good practices for data handling.
• Worked collaboratively with other engineers and business areas on data requirements.
