Quality Engineer (Temporary)

The Quality Engineer manages Process, Product, equipment, and machinery releases through the correct use of APQP formats. Validates the preparation of PPAP paperwork and ensures it complies with customer specifications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Completed professional degree: Industrial, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Electrical Engineering

English 80% (Mandatory)

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTITUDES:

Computer packages: Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word, Project

Verifiable experience in the position: Minimum 2 years in harnesses (automotive +)

Proficiency with measurement equipment and systems

Problem-solving analysis techniques: 8Ds, 5WHys, Ishikawa / Cause-and-effect diagram, Poke Yokes, Red X, DOEs

Responsible, committed, and available

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB AUTHORITY:

First-time approval of PPAPs with the customer

Early participation in transfers to define process and product controls

Management, compliance, and follow-up of APQP formats for NPIs and transfers

Management of trackers as applicable

Management of corrective actions related to PPAP rejections

Management and compliance with the PSO for NPIs and transfers

Continuous improvement proposals in PDCA

Compliance with the PDCA plan according to established deadlines

Follow-up on GP-12 and Zero customer complaints for NPIs and transfers within a period of 30 business days after PPAP

KEY ACTIVITIES OF THE JOB FUNCTIONS:

Management of PPAPs according to customer requirements

Responsible for obtaining PPAP approvals with the customer

Management of process release (PSO) and equipment / machinery release before PPAP run for NPIs, ECNs, and transfers

Review of specific requirements in transfers and ensuring controls before transferring

Validates Risk Assessments classified as High Risk

Management of control plans and ensuring effective controls exist for CTQs

Authority to stop the process or halt shipments if there is any non-conformity in the process or product

Coordinates corrective action meetings with the NPI team regarding PPAP rejections

Manages AQP documents and Quality Assurance related quality system documents

Attendance at APQP meetings for NPIs and Transfers

Daily administration of trackers as applicable

Audits product inspection activities (PPAPs, Prototypes, Service Parts)

Management and direction of human resources under their charge

Preparation of monthly presentations with corresponding actions

Management of corrective actions originating from the documents under their charge

Continuous improvement in departmental and plant indicators
