Patent Consulting Engineer

Position Description

On behalf of Bugnion Spa, one of the most important and historic Italian and European Intellectual Property consulting firms, we are looking for a Patent Consulting Engineer for the Rome office. We are not looking for a purely executive profile, but a key figure ready to become a strategic partner for client companies, capable of combining solid technical-scientific preparation with a strong relational and consulting aptitude. The resource works closely with the team and the company's legal department with the aim of protecting and enhancing client innovations.

Main Responsibilities:

- Evaluate innovative ideas proposed by clients and analyze scientific or technical documents to identify the premises for patentability of an invention.

- Perform and/or manage research activities on dedicated databases (using patent search platforms) and draft official texts for patent filing.

- Manage relations with the bodies (national and international) responsible for granting patents, exchange information, and prepare relevant instructions for foreign associates.

- Draft technical-legal opinions on industrial property matters and assist the company's legal team in providing support to clients on intellectual property issues in judicial and extrajudicial matters.

Required Qualifications:

- Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Computer Science, or Mechanical).

- Solid technical-scientific background in your field, knowledge of patent law (Italy, Europe, international), technical-legal drafting and structured writing skills, and familiarity with patent databases.

- Excellent knowledge of the English language (minimum level B2) and advanced use of the Office package.

- Precision and attention to detail, analytical skills (breaking down complex problems and proposing solutions), inclination for business development, aptitude for relationships and teamwork.

What We Offer:

- Permanent contract (CCNL Terziario – Confcommercio, 14 monthly payments).- Full Time (9:00 AM/1:00 PM and 2:00 PM/6:00 PM, Monday to Friday).

- Gross Annual Salary (RAL) commensurate with experience, ranging from €40,000 to €70,000.

- Inclusion in dedicated training and mentoring paths, aimed at the potential acquisition of qualifications as a Patent Attorney (Italian and European).

- Smart Working (active after the appropriate period of integration/onboarding), Meal Vouchers, and Company Welfare Plan active after the first 6 months.

Required Experience:

- 3 years of experience gained at IP consulting firms.

The Selection Process:

1. Application submission and registration for the offer.
2. Introductory interview with the etalentum Headhunter.
3. First interview at the company with Management.
4. Contract offer and onboarding.

Minimum Education

Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Computer Science, or Mechanical).
