Design Engineer Water Suppression Systems

Join our team as a Design Engineer Water Suppression Systems and contribute to the development of complex projects for fire safety and water-based limiting and suppression systems for civil, industrial, and infrastructure constructions, from concept to execution documentation.

The role offers you the opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary teams, to contribute to defining efficient and well-integrated technical solutions, and to support projects throughout their implementation.

• Develops technical documentation for water suppression systems, according to the design phases.
• Proposes technical solutions for internal and external hydrant systems, sprinklers, drenchers, water mist suppression systems, pumping stations, fire water tanks, and water supply and distribution networks for fire suppression.
• Performs hydraulic calculations, establishes the required flow rates and pressures, and selects the specific equipment for suppression systems.
• Develops plans, functional diagrams, execution details, and other technical drawings using specific design software.
• Prepares bills of quantities, equipment lists, technical specifications, and supporting documents necessary for design and execution.
• Analyzes client requirements and base documentation to establish the optimal technical and functional solution.
• Collaborates with fire detection, security, electrical installations, BMS, HVAC, plumbing, architecture, structural, and other specialties involved in the project.
• Participates in technical meetings and coordination discussions with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
• Provides technical support during execution and contributes to clarifying issues arising on site.
• Updates project documentation based on implementation changes.
• Participates, when necessary, in site visits, technical verifications, and determinant phases.
• Meets delivery deadlines and quality standards undertaken within projects.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in designing fire limiting and suppression systems.
• Knowledge of systems, technical solutions, and manufacturers of water suppression equipment, including internal and external hydrants, sprinklers, drenchers, and other specific systems.
• In-depth understanding of the applicable legislative framework, regulations, and standards in the field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and manufacturer-specific applications; exposure to BIM projects is an advantage.
• Skills in drafting technical documentation in a clear, complete, and well-structured manner.
• Specialized courses and certifications in suppression system design.
• Ability to correlate suppression systems with other building installations (HVAC, electrical, BMS) into an integrated technical solution.
• English language – technical level, for analyzing documentation, specifications, and manufacturer solutions.
