Job description
The Hôpitaux Paris Saint-Joseph (Paris 14th) and Marie-Lannelongue (Le Plessis-Robinson - 92) form a non-profit private hospital group, affiliated with the Fondation Hôpital Saint-Joseph, recognized as being of public utility since 1977.
Our public health mission is based on:
Recognized medical excellence, with establishments regularly ranked among the best in France (Le Point) and in the world (Newsweek);
A strong commitment to innovation and medical research, in partnership with Paris Cité and Paris-Saclay universities;
HAS certification with the highest mention 'High Quality of Care' (98% conformity).
Accessible to all without excess fees, our hospitals offer comprehensive care in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and emergencies, relying on a cutting-edge technical platform (operating rooms, latest-generation imaging, robotics, specialized laboratories...).
Joining our teams means contributing to an ambitious health project, serving everyone, in an environment that provides meaning, expertise, and innovation. The rhythmology nurse participates in the overall care of patients requiring interventional or non-interventional rhythmology management at Hôpital Marie-Lannelongue, within the adult medical cardiology and congenital heart disease departments. They work in close collaboration with rhythmologist cardiologists, the medical and paramedical teams of adult medical cardiology and congenital heart disease, the interventional technical platform (PTI), and the outpatient platform.
As such, here are their activities and main missions:
1) Clinical Activities
Patient support at the CVL / HDJ as part of a rhythmology assessment, in connection with an interventional procedure or in a non-invasive management context. Analysis of biological exams and additional tests performed. Monitoring the effectiveness and adherence to various treatments. Medico-social orientation based on the patient's situation.
Pharmacological provocation tests (ajmaline, isoprenaline, striadyne, etc.) and tilt tests.
Assistance to rhythmologists for the implantation and removal of subcutaneous ECG monitors.
Autonomous activity for scar/dressing checks and wound care after any implantation of a rhythm device (especially pacemakers and defibrillators), with assistance from rhythmologists in case of difficulty or complication.
Placement of Holter ECG monitors (24-72h and long-term) in conjunction with healthcare assistants. Downloading, checking, verifying proper functioning, and monitoring are the responsibility of the nurse. Possibility of preliminary reading after training.
Remote monitoring activity for rhythm devices, analysis of tracings, and alerting rhythmologists in case of detected arrhythmia and/or device dysfunction.
2) Therapeutic Education and Prevention Activities
Explanation of the care pathway and treatments provided at Marie-Lannelongue during a dedicated consultation.
Patient education before and after an electrophysiological exploration and/or ablation procedure: procedures, precautions, etc.
Patient education before and after the implantation of a rhythm device (subcutaneous ECG monitor, pacemaker, defibrillator): procedure details, device functioning, precautions, etc.
Patient education on the use of smartwatches for ECG recording.
3) Coordination Activities
Contribution to the coordination of care pathways for adult and congenital rhythmology patients.
Contributions to audit activities and related databases.
Participation in rhythmology staff meetings (and, if necessary, adult and/or congenital cardiology meetings).
Coordination of care in conjunction with programming assistants.
4) Transversal Activities
Once their expertise is confirmed: Training/tutoring of caregivers involved in the care of rhythmology patients.
Contribution to the organization of future rhythmology activities.
