Industrial Technical Buyer
Job description
An important industrial company with international presence is looking to incorporate an Industrial Technical Buyer to join its Corporate Purchasing team.
The selected person will be responsible for the planning and management of purchases of technical components and materials necessary for the development and industrialization of industrial equipment and solutions. They will participate in all phases of the project, from identifying needs to supplier qualification and launch into production, actively contributing to cost optimization, continuous improvement, and supply assurance.
Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and select products and suppliers that adapt to the defined technical, quality, and cost needs.
- Manage the search, evaluation, and development of national and international suppliers.
- Conduct supplier visits and audits to evaluate production capabilities, service levels, and quality standards.
- Lead purchasing projects from the initial phases through to the qualification of suppliers and components.
- Request, analyze, and compare offers for new projects, carrying out negotiations and award processes.
- Participate in the definition, monitoring, and control of project cost objectives.
- Detect and drive opportunities for economic optimization and process improvement within the supply chain.
- Ensure supply continuity through adequate risk management and contingency plans.
- Negotiate contracts, framework agreements, pricing, and commercial conditions with strategic suppliers.
- Define and implement category purchasing strategies.
- Manage and develop the supplier panel to ensure competitiveness, quality, and innovation.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure project success.
Education
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Complementary training in Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management will be valued.
Experience and Knowledge
- Demonstrable experience in technical purchasing within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Experience in managing, evaluating, and negotiating with national and international suppliers.
- Technical knowledge of materials, industrial components, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience participating in industrialization or product development projects.
- Analytical skills and a focus on cost optimization.
- High level of English (minimum C1).
