Industrial spray painter

Long-term opportunity for an experienced Industrial Spray Painter. Work on a specialised project.

We're looking for an experienced Industrial Spray Painter to join the team in Christchurch.This project involves painting and finishing a large-scale armoury build using modified shipping containers. The work is expected to run for approximately 1,000 hours, offering long-term, consistent work for the right person.You'll be working on a unique project within one of New Zealand's leading container modification and storage businesses.
What you'll be doing

• Preparing steel surfaces for painting
• Sanding, masking and priming containers and fabricated components
• Applying industrial coatings to a high standard
• Mixing paints and coatings to specification
• Carrying out quality checks and touch-ups

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as an industrial spray painter
• Experience painting steel structures, heavy equipment, containers or similar products
• Strong surface preparation skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain quality standards
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable with a strong focus on health and safety
