Import Controller - Logistics Industry

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Import Controller to join their team in the Logistics industry in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the import process, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods from international suppliers to our clients in a timely manner. Responsibilities: Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the import process, including customs clearance, shipping, and transportation. Prepare and submit import documentation, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists. Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws. Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate the import process. Track and trace shipments, providing updates to clients on the status of their orders. Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the import process. Manage and control import costs, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Maintain accurate records of all import activities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in import control, preferably within the logistics industry. In-depth knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and international trade laws. Strong understanding of Incoterms. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with import software and systems.
