Technical Office Employee (Building or Systems)
Job description
Randstad Talent Selection is the division of Randstad Construction specialized in the Search & Selection of qualified and highly professional profiles. For a solid and structured company operating on a national scale in the construction, renovation, and facility management sector (with over 150 direct employees and internal construction, electrical, and mechanical trades), we are selecting a:
Specialized Cost Estimator for Building Works
Contract: Continuous collaboration on a VAT basis (Partita IVA); annual compensation between €30,000 and €40,000 (company target approximately €36,000 gross/year, equivalent to €3,000/month continuously, regularly recognized even for agreed periods of closure, holidays, festivities, or illness)
Work Location: Rome (central area)
Working Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week on-site, with excellent operational autonomy and individual organizational flexibility
Operational Mode: 90% technical activity in the office, 10% technical site visits for surveys, site inspections, or feasibility analysis for tenders and projects
Responsibilities:
The resource will be integrated into the technical office at the Rome headquarters (approximately 20 colleagues), will report directly to the Head of the Technical Office, and will collaborate closely with Project Managers, handling the preparation of economic-quantitative documentation and cost estimation for new constructions, civil/commercial renovations, structural interventions, and finishing works for projects and tenders at a national level.
Preparation of Building Cost Estimates: Complete and analytical preparation of Estimative Metric Calculations (CME) for civil works, demolitions, structural works, masonry, insulation, waterproofing, internal/external finishes, and ancillary works.
Price Analysis and Price Lists: Development of detailed price analyses for new construction works or variations during execution; constant consultation of official sector price lists (DEI for renovation/new construction, regional price lists) and internal company price lists.
Tender and Quotation Support: Technical-economic collaboration for the quantification and valuation of costs for preparing offers related to public and private tenders (exclusive focus on cost estimates and quantifications, without bureaucratic or administrative management of the tender).
Study of Drawings and Specifications: In-depth examination of architectural and executive drawings, construction details, technical reports, and Special Tender Specifications (CSA).
Supplier Management and Comparison: Request, collection, and analytical comparison of quotes for building materials, rentals, scaffolding, and labor from subcontractors, coordinating with internal trades and site technicians.
Survey Site Visits: Conducting targeted technical site visits (approximately 10% of the activity) for site inspection, direct metric surveys, and verification of site conditions before formulating the offer or during work progress.
Requirements:
The Building Cost Estimator must possess the following requirements:
Education: Diploma as a Surveyor (Geometra) or Building Technician (Perito Edile), and/or Degree in Civil/Building Engineering or Architecture.
Experience: Consolidated experience in the role of cost estimator or tenderer in construction or renovation companies, with in-depth knowledge of building works and finishes.
Software Skills: Excellent proficiency in PriMus (ACCA Software), advanced level in the use of Microsoft Excel for cost data processing, and excellent ability to consult and measure 2D drawings using AutoCAD. (Any familiarity with BIM environments is an optional added value, not binding).
Technical Skills: Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and construction details; solid knowledge of site dynamics, construction techniques, and building materials.
Contractual Requirements & Soft Skills: Possession or availability to open a VAT number (Partita IVA) for stable, continuous, and on-site collaboration; analytical rigor, precision in measurements, respect for deadlines, and excellent predisposition for discussion with the project team.
