Shipyard Installation Technician

Job description

Our company, a historic reality in luxury nautical, is looking for a figure to be inserted as shipyard installation technician and machinery room attendant.
Its activities will be those listed below:

  • Affiancare the Capobarca and/or the Line Responsible in receiving the construction plan of the vessel (GANTT), with particular reference to the installation activities, verifying the availability of materials, resources, technical designs, and infrastructural supports necessary;
  • Monitor and control the execution of installations (electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, motors etc.) during the phases of setup, launch, and testing, ensuring that they are performed in accordance with project requirements, technical standards, and current safety regulations;
  • Perform inspections on installation systems in progress and at the end of activities, documenting any non-conformities or defects found, preparing or soliciting necessary corrective actions;
  • Collaborate in planning and supervising functional tests and installations, in coordination with external suppliers and internal technicians, preparing technical documentation;
  • Verify correct integration between different installations (e.g. compatibility between electrical installation and HVAC, between hydraulic installation and structures) and with other onboard components (furniture, carpentry, systems);
  • Interface with the Technical Office for receipt of technical specifications and resolution of project or installation problems;
  • Support the procurement process by collaborating with the Purchasing Department and Warehouse for controlling material arrival and installation component supplies;
  • Manage relationships with contracting companies for installation, monitoring execution times, correct use of materials, respect for quality standards, and safety regulations;
  • Support the service and refit process for vessels in warranty, performing analysis of installation problems (trouble shooting), proposing and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with Line Responsible;
  • Contribute to optimizing installation processes, collecting shipyard data, reporting inefficiencies, and proposing improvements, in coordination with Production Manager and Technical Office;
  • Verify compliance with anti-fortunistic regulations and environmental regulations, with particular attention to installations subject to certifications, official testing, or declarations of conformity;
  • Manage and update technical documentation related to installations (schemes, manuals, test reports, checklists, minutes, certificates)
  • Autonomous management of acceptance lists for vessels pre-delivery, also through coordination with contracting companies and subcontractors
  • Constant respect for procedures provided relative to labor safety regulations, both on vessels and in various shipyards


Prior experience and proven track record in the role
- Experience within shipyards or other moderately structured organizations
- Ability to read technical designs
- Good knowledge of computer tools
- Passion for the role
- Flexibility in scheduling
