HR & Payroll Manager - Canada
Job description
GoGlobal is seeking a proactive and experienced HR & Payroll Manager to support our client employees in Canada. This role combines strategic and hands-on responsibilities in both Human Resources and Payroll, with a strong focus on compliance with Canadian employment standards and payroll regulations. Depending on business needs, you may lead one area as your primary function while supporting the other as a secondary focus. Collaboration across functions and geographies is essential to ensure seamless integration and effective communication. As HR & Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the following key areas: • HR Operations: Manage the day-to-day HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee data management, benefits administration, and employee relations. • Payroll Operations: Oversee the entire payroll process, including payroll processing, payroll reporting, and compliance with Canadian payroll regulations. • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Canadian employment standards, labor laws, and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. • Employee Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting employee satisfaction, retention, and overall well-being. • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners. • Process Improvement: Continuously monitor and improve HR and Payroll processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and implementing changes as needed. • Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular reporting and analytics to support business decision-making, including HR and Payroll metrics, trends, and insights. • Leadership: Lead and manage a team of HR and Payroll professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities. • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with employees, management, and external partners, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange. • Business Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business, including financials, operations, and strategic objectives. • Adaptability: Be prepared to adapt to changing business needs, priorities, and regulatory requirements. • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR and Payroll management, preferably in a Canadian context. • Strong understanding of Canadian employment standards, labor laws, and regulations. • Proven track record of successfully managing HR and Payroll operations, including payroll processing, compliance, and reporting. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. • Proficiency in HR and Payroll software and systems, including payroll processing, time and attendance, and performance management. • Certification in HR or Payroll, such as the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or the Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), is an asset.
