About Hywax

Hywax GmbH is part of the international AWAX Group with around 700 employees worldwide. At our location in the Port of Hamburg, around 300 employees and trainees produce a wide spectrum of paraffin waxes based on mineral oil and synthetic materials, wax emulsions, and petroleum jelly. We also operate production facilities in Linz (Austria) and Birkenhead (Great Britain).
Our products are used worldwide – for example, in hot-melt adhesives, paper and packaging, paints and varnishes, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, wood-based materials, candles, and road construction.

HR at Hywax means being there for people and helping to shape everyday working life: attentive, reliable, and close to the issues that concern our employees and managers. Our five-person team combines payroll and HR support and sees itself as a partner for the people in the company. For this, we are looking for someone who enjoys becoming part of this collaborative environment and contributing through their work to ensuring our colleagues feel well-supported and assisted.

Your Responsibilities

• You will advise employees and managers on individual personnel matters and implement them independently for a defined employee group, observing applicable laws, guidelines, and processes.

• You will support the Head of HR in implementing the HR strategy and in further developing and applying guidelines and processes.

• You will plan and manage recruiting processes for specialists and managers as well as trainees – from coordinating needs to contract drafting.

• You will support our trainees in cooperation with the technical trainers and handle training administration, including correspondence with vocational schools and the Chamber of Commerce.

• You will work trustingly with the local employee representation.

• You will participate in HR projects, especially in the digitalization and further development of HR processes.

• You will further develop suitable recruiting channels and personnel marketing activities and support their digital implementation.

• You will process invoices and purchase requisitions for the HR department and check invoices for factual correctness.

• You will take over quality control of the maintenance cleaning and canteen services and document the results.

What You Bring With You

• You have completed a commercial apprenticeship, ideally with further training in personnel management, or you have completed a degree, preferably related to HR, business administration, or economic psychology.

• Ideally, you have initial experience in personnel work and basic knowledge of labor and works constitution law.

• You communicate confidently and appreciatively, enjoy working with different people, and can constructively address even difficult topics.

• You work proactively, structured, and independently, combining organizational talent with a sense of responsibility and analytical thinking.

• You have very good English skills and fluent German skills in speaking and writing.
