Some embassies appoint in the name of the sending states in various federal states in Germany, for example Düsseldorf, Köln, Stuttgart, München, Hamburg the representative and highly respected office of the Honorary Consul and the office of the Cultural and Economic Attaché to a person from the economy or the free professions.

The diplomatic privileges are outstanding and open doors that would otherwise remain closed.

The Honorary Consulate is granted for life.

Term of office Attaché post five years with the option of an extension.

GENERAL DURATION:

The process can take from two to three months to longer periods, as various authorities in the sending and receiving states, particularly the Foreign Ministry/Foreign Office, are involved.

PROCEDURE: (EXEQUATUR)

The process ends with the issuance of the Exequatur, the official approval of the receiving state, which allows the activity to begin.

Honorary Consuls and Consuls are honorary representatives of a sending state abroad, primarily cultivating and promoting economic and cultural relations.

Pass applications and authentication of signatures may occasionally be added.

The Cultural Attaché is a diplomatic official at an embassy or consulate, responsible for cultivating and promoting cultural and educational relations between his home country and the host country.

Cultural exchange and events.

TASKS OF A BUSINESS ATTACHE:

A Business Attaché is a high-ranking diplomat responsible for cultivating and promoting economic relations between his home country and the host country.

He serves as an interface between governments, companies, and business associations.

Qualification

SELECTION OF THE PERSON:

A person with reputation.

The Honorary Consul is economically independent.

The appointment is made by a sovereign act (Exequatur) and is a political discretionary decision that is guided by the principle of reciprocity.
