Highway Truck Mechanic

JG Diesel is seeking a qualified Highway Truck Mechanic to join our Mackay-based workshop on a permanent, full-time basis. This role offers variety, stability, and the opportunity to work on highway trucks in a well-supported team environment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on highway trucks, with work ranging from general defect repairs through to full life rebuilds.

Key responsibilities include:

• Scheduled component change-outs and repairs

• Fault finding and diagnostics

• Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

• Working productively with a strong focus on cost efficiency

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade Certificate (Highway Truck Mechanic)

• Valid QLD Driver’s Licence

• Experience in heavy equipment or highway truck repairs (desirable)

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter

• A team-focused attitude

• Strong commitment to workplace safety

• A reputation for being respectful, reliable, and honest

• 7/7 roster – day shift only
