What you will do

The activities are performed within the National Tactical Command (LTC) of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.

The LTC aims to implement the border police task, surveillance and security, and international and military police tasks at a tactical level. Specifically, the activities are performed within the Police and Security Brigade, Armed Aviation Security (GBB) department.

The GBB department aims to contribute to the security of the state, in addition to other organizations, by surveilling and securing persons, objects, and services, specifically targeting threats such as gross violence and terrorism.

The tasks of the group commander include acting as a group commander, carrying out surveillance and security tasks, and guiding the sergeants and marechaussees.

As a group commander in the Armed Aviation Security at Schiphol Airport, you will be operationally responsible for the knowledge and skills of your group. In this role, you work irregular hours and closely with other group commanders, deputies, and team leadership. You will direct two sergeants and seven marechaussees during incidents in the higher force spectrum.

Where you will work

Before you start in this role, you will first follow, if you have not already done so, the training to become a General Investigating Officer at the Training, Education, and Knowledge Center of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (OTCKMar) in Apeldoorn. This training lasts 11 months (including leave).

If you already have a basic military training (such as AMBV, AMO, EMMV, EMV or BOKL)? Then you will be exempted from the military part. Do you have police training? Then you can also apply. We will then assess if you can follow the basic military training.

During the training to become a General Investigating Officer, you will start with the Basic KMar Training (BKV), in which you will receive lessons in, among other things, criminal prosecution, criminal law, and service instructions. In addition, you will receive education in document control, the border police task, and international and military police tasks.
