Re-entrant: Non-Commissioned Officer Technical Service (SEWACO)

What you will do

As a Sergeant Technical Service SeWaCo on board a navy ship, you will primarily be involved in planning and coordinating maintenance of weapon systems and sensors. These can include communication systems, computer installations and network systems, sensors (radar, sonar), weapon installations, weapon systems (cannon, torpedo weapon systems) and navigation equipment (GPS, log, meteo, compasses). Identifying equipment malfunctions, determining the deployment of personnel and resources, and supervising them are also your responsibility. You will maintain the administration of the technical systems for which you are responsible and you will supervise and instruct personnel.

The work on board takes place both inside (below deck) and outside the ship (on deck). When the work takes place inside, it is often in confined spaces and in difficult-to-reach places. Outdoor work may take place at height. All work is strongly influenced by the movement of the ship, which can entail additional risks.

In addition to your technical tasks on board, you are of course also a military person and have tasks that come with that.

PLUS POINTS OF THIS FUNCTION

• Salary: your gross base salary, plus allowances and our travel expenses, pension and health insurance scheme, and a 13th month will result in a pleasant surprise for your net income.
• One-time re-employment bonus of €2,500 net after 1 year if you have been in service for at least 2 years previously.

Where you will work

You will work again within the Technical Service on board a navy ship. The main location is Den Helder. You will participate in exercises and must take into account that you may be deployed.
