Note: If you are hired for this position, you will be appointed within the Defense organization as 'Corporal fitter Technical Service Sensors, Weapons, and Communication Systems'.

What you will do

As a Technical Service Fitter SeWaCo in the Royal Netherlands Navy, you will primarily be involved in inspecting, optimizing, making operational, and troubleshooting equipment and installations on board a naval vessel or ashore. This can include communication systems, computer installations and network systems, sensors (radar, sonar), weapon installations, weapon systems (cannons, torpedo weapon systems), and navigation equipment (GPS, log, meteo, compasses).

The work on board takes place both inside (below deck) and outside the ship (on deck). When the work takes place inside, it is often in confined spaces and in hard-to-reach areas. The work outside can take place at heights. All work is strongly influenced by the movement of the ship, which can involve extra risks.

In addition to your technical tasks on board, you are of course also a soldier and have tasks associated with that.

PLUS POINTS OF THIS FUNCTION

• Salary: your gross base salary, supplemented by allowances and our travel, pension, and health insurance schemes, and a 13th month salary, will result in a pleasant surprise net.
• One-time re-employment bonus of €2,500 net after 1 year if you were previously employed for at least 2 years.
• Work atmosphere: nowhere will you be part of such a close-knit team of colleagues as in the Defense organization.

Where you will work

You will work again within the Technical Service on board a naval vessel. The main location is Den Helder. You will participate in exercises and must take into account that you may be deployed abroad.
