Job Description Join our expanding Open Pit Workshop team, as we look to ramp up gold production in 2026. Based at Macraes, you will safely and efficiently undertake the maintenance, repairs and servicing of all mining machinery and ancillary plant/equipment across the open pit maintenance workshop as directed by the Supervisor. At all times, display a high degree of professionalism and quality workmanship to ensure that cost effective maintenance and repairs are delivered. This role works on a 7-day roster with regular hours, but may be required to work overtime or varying shifts to meet business needs. You will also be expected to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of workshop processes and procedures. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy diesel mechanics and experience working in an open pit environment. Key responsibilities include: • Maintenance, repairs and servicing of mining machinery and ancillary plant/equipment; • Conducting routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently; • Identifying and reporting any defects or issues with equipment; • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of workshop processes and procedures; • Working collaboratively with other team members to achieve workshop goals; • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of work completed. Requirements: • Heavy diesel mechanic trade qualification or equivalent experience; • Strong understanding of heavy diesel mechanics and experience working in an open pit environment; • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment; • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of workshop processes and procedures.
