The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic testing and identify mechanical issues
- Analyse results and carry out effective repairs
- Repair and replace diesel engines, transmissions, steering, braking, and lighting systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on light fleet, prime movers, and agricultural machinery including cotton pickers
- Test drive vehicles to assess performance
- Maintain accurate records, service logs, and parts inventory
- Ensure compliance with safety systems and workshop standards
- Trade qualifications in Mechanical, Automotive, or Heavy Vehicle Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Strong IT and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-diagnose faults
- Physically fit with good attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Competitive annual salary package range from $80,000 - $95,000 + superannuation depending
