Health Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional care and support to elderly residents living in nursing and residential homes, many of whom are living with dementia. The ideal candidate will have experience in dementia and elderly care, with a genuine passion for improving residents’ quality of life. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting comfort, dignity, and independence, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where each resident feels valued and respected.

Duties

• Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting and hoisting when necessary.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
• Engage in behavior management techniques to support clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia care.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Document daily activities and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager.

Experience

• Previous experience in the UK in caregiving roles — such as in residential or nursing homes, hospice care, or home care — is required.
• Experience working with individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia is required.
• Experience emptying a catheter.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
• Must be living in the UK with the right to work
