Health Care Assistant
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care & Hygiene:
• Assisting with dressing, washing, bathing, showering, shaving, and grooming.
• Supporting oral hygiene, toileting, and continence care.
• Helping with pressure area care under nursing supervision.
2. Mobility & Daily Living Assistance:
• Aiding with bed transfers, positioning, and use of mobility aids.
3. Medication Support:
• Prompting and assisting clients in taking prescribed medication.
4. Nutrition & Mealtime Assistance:
• Preparing meals/snacks based on dietary preferences.
• Assisting with feeding where required.
5. Household Support & Cleanliness:
• Performing light household tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, and polishing.
• Changing bed linen and ensuring a hygienic environment.
6. Compliance & Professional Standards:
• Adhering to organisational policies and health and safety regulations.
• Maintaining confidentiality and accurate records.
• Providing compassionate, person-centred care with dignity and respect
