Job description
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Health and Safety Officer to join our Switched On Housing team in Gisborne . In this dynamic, field‑based role, you’ll support our housing projects and maintenance activities across the region, playing a critical role in promoting safe work practices and ensuring health and safety standards are consistently applied. You’ll work closely with the Regional Delivery Manager, operational teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to foster a strong sense of collaboration and shared responsibility for health and safety. As part of our team, you’ll be expected to: • Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies and procedures across all aspects of our operations. • Conduct regular site visits to monitor and assess health and safety risks, providing guidance and support as needed. • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and healthy manner. • Provide training and coaching to staff on health and safety best practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, applying this knowledge to inform our health and safety policies and procedures.
